Who we are

Two guys, 15 years, millions of chocolate bars, tons of gummies, and now… one new tube.

Funnzees comes from the team that helped build Colorado's edible market.  We spent 15 years getting the serious stuff right with chocolate bars, back when potency testing and THC labels were still new ideas.  Funnzees is the fun one: a tart idea almost 20 years in the making, pressed in Denver by a crew that's been with us for years.  Stick around for the whole story, or jump to the store finder.

Before Funnzees

It started with a few chocolate bars in Windsor.

Derek made his first cannabis bars in batches of fewer than ten, in Windsor, Colorado, with his little sister helping out.  A medical patient for over 20 years and an early dispensary owner, he was being the change he wanted to see.

Then his hometown banned cannabis.  Not because of him, but because of the "bad apples," as the mayor told him.  He pushed on and teamed up with Rick, who was making delicious cannabis carrot cake and weed brownies at the time, and traded those perishable baked goods for shelf-stable chocolate bars.  Rick picked the name incredibles™, and they were on their way.

Together they built Medically Correct into one of Colorado's best-known edible makers and one of the first nationwide edible brands, reaching nearly $15 million in annual sales at the height of Colorado's green rush.

The people

Meet the makers.

The creative dreamer

The dreamer.  An artist and creator determined to change how people see cannabis, he's been coming up with edibles people actually want to eat for over 20 years.  He's in the business of "alternative delivery methods," as he likes to call it.

If it has to do with how Funnzees looks, tastes or makes you smile, it probably started in one of his blackbooks.  Funnzees is the idea he's carried around for almost 20 years.

The builder

Came from the food industry, where he helped grow Udi's into a national bakery brand by creating gluten-free bread.  Seeing cannabis cookies help a friend's grandmother pulled him into this world.

As CEO of Medically Correct he brought real food standards with him: exact dosing, potency testing, THC labeling and nutrition facts, back when the market was still figuring itself out.

The crew

It takes a village.

The founders get the headlines, but Funnzees is made by a crew that's been with us for years.  Say hi.

Why tarts?

An idea almost 20 years in the making.

For half a dozen years Derek kept a pack of Wacky Wafers taped up on his big idea board, and every so often he'd order a bag of those little bottle-cap tarts and think about making them a little fizzy.

The bright, sour, chalky-sweet stuff from the corner store in the 80s was ingrained deep, always with the same thought: someone should make a grown-up version of these.  Well, Funnzees is just that.  A little THC, big flavor, and a little mischief, all rolled into one little bite.

Part of the fun is that feeling of finding something you weren't supposed to, like the back door of the factory swinging wide open… sometimes you gotta sneak in there and make a little magic of your own.

It's not for kids.
It's for the kid in you.

How we make them

Serious about the boring parts.

The fun only works if the product is dependable.  Every piece is pressed to the same size and lab tested, so the 2mg on the tube is the 2mg in the piece.

We use ultra-clean distilled cannabis oil because it's the most reliable way to dose an edible.  It blends evenly through every batch and stays out of the way of the flavor.  Distillate keeps every piece consistent, from one piece to the next and one tube to another.

And we keep it tasty on purpose.  A tart should taste like a tart, so the flavor stays front and center.  Looking for more THC?  Have another handful.

By the numbers

354,550 Funnzees pressed so far.  That's:

  • Taller than a mile. Stacked up, they'd stand about 6,400 feet, higher than the Mile High City is high.
  • Longer than a 5K. Laid end to end, they'd stretch about 5.3 kilometers.
  • About half a ton of fun. Roughly 1,000 pounds of pressed tarts.
  • 709,100 milligrams of THC, dosed 2 at a time.
